Monitoring

State and federal agencies and local groups have collected water quality data at many locations and at various times throughout the Minnesota River Basin over the past thirty years. Over the past few years, data collected by multiple agencies and organizations have been assembled and presented in the State of the Minnesota River Reports (see publications). The monitoring data in the reports allow a relative comparison between the mainstem Minnesota River sites as well as the major and minor tributaries in the Minnesota River Basin.
